This Privacy Policy explains how R Sonkar & Co ("Sonkar Fashions", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you use sonkarfashions.com (the "Website"). It has been drafted in alignment with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. What information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the Website and fulfil your orders:
- Contact details — name, email, mobile number (needed to place orders and for delivery).
- Delivery address — street address, city, state, pincode.
- Payment metadata — your UPI ID or payment token is handled directly by our payment partner (MMADPay); we do not store full card numbers or UPI PINs on our servers.
- Order history — the pieces you've ordered, delivered to, and returned.
- Website usage data — pages visited, referral source, device type, and approximate location, typically collected via Google Analytics.
- Communication — when you reach out via contact form, email, or phone, we keep a record of the exchange.
2. How we use your information
- To process and deliver your orders.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmation, payment status, shipping updates).
- To respond to your queries and grievances.
- To improve our Website and product offering.
- To comply with Indian tax, accounting, and consumer protection law.
- To send occasional marketing emails — only if you've opted in via our newsletter signup. You can unsubscribe any time.
3. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on servers located in India (Hostinger India). We take reasonable technical precautions including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. We do not knowingly transfer your data outside India.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only when necessary to run the business:
- Payment partner — MMADPay, for processing UPI transactions.
- Shipping partners — courier companies who need your delivery address to ship your order.
- Email service — Hostinger SMTP, for delivering transactional emails.
- Analytics — Google Analytics (GA4), in a form that does not identify you personally.
- Government or legal authorities — if we are required to by a valid legal order.
5. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Ask us what personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or update it.
- Ask us to delete it, subject to our legal obligation to retain order records for tax purposes.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communication at any time.
- File a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see below).

6. Cookies
We use first-party cookies and localStorage to keep your cart persistent, your login session active (for admin users), and to run Google Analytics. You can clear cookies from your browser settings at any time — doing so will reset your cart.
7. Data retention
Order and invoice records are retained for at least 8 years to comply with GST and Income Tax Act requirements. Marketing emails subscribers are retained until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data follows Google's default retention (typically 14 months).
8. Children's privacy
Our Website is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We acknowledge all grievances within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days as required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and IT Rules, 2021.

If we update this policy, the new version will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be notified to active customers via email.
